Chilling in Fribourg!
We are standing at the counter of Intrigo, the Gelataria in Rue de Romont. This is not French ice cream but fresh Italian gelato. There are many flavours to choose from, all with their Italian names.....vaniglia, fragola, cioccolato. I choose vanilla and we take our cups outside to the tables and sit in the sunshine letting each spoonful melt gently on our tongues. Fi has managed to splatter red wine on one of the walls in her apartment so Colin's job is to paint that particular wall. He doesn't have time to paint the whole room. Oh no! There is no Bunnings in Switzerland! Colin finds the paint shop but it is closed for lunch. He returns after lunch but there are no colour cards to take home to match. Quelle horreur! There are so many off-white colours! Which is the right one? Never mind, he chooses one and returns to Fi's apartment. He has brought a plastic sheet from home to put on the floor as well as his best paint-splattered shorts and T-shirt to wear. He also brought a brush from home but had to Google Translate to find out what turps was! Thankfully Tomas in the paint shop speaks English. While Colin is busy painting, I am enjoying exploring Fribourg, walking through the old town and down along the riverbank. Finally the first coat is done and we relax over a very nice dinner.
