Nelson Falls, Tasmania
The falls are a very easy 30 minute and 1.4km return walk through through temperate rainforest. The lush green ferns and moss covered rocks show how much rainfall occurs in this part of Tasmania. The path follows the river so the sound of burbling water can be heard for the duation of our walk. Along the way we read several interesting educational panels highlighting the vegetation of the area.
Getting There
Nelson Falls are roughly 90 minutes from Strahan and are a really good rest stop on the way to Hobart. The carpark is right on the main highway so it can't be missed. There are toilets in the carpark.
