Bjargtangar Bird Cliff
Bjargtangar bird cliffs are the westernmost point of Iceland, and also of Europe. The cliffs extend for about 14km along the coast and are up to around 400m high. They are Europe's largest bird cliffs and there are literally millions of birds nesting there. We had dinner at 6:30pm as our tender boat left at 7:30pm to cruise over to the cliffs. It was a beautiful evening on the water and we were lucky it was so calm. We spent an hour bobbing on the sea watching puffins, terns and gannets flying all around. I have never seen so many birds in the one place. By now it was getting quite chilly on the water so I was rather glad someone on the boat felt seasick. A decision was made to head back to our ship and warm up!!
