We were upgraded to a luxury premium king room which included complementary breakfast, complementary WIFI, SGD20 laundry credit a mobile phone with free calls to 10 countries, including Australia and 2 Transportation Passes for public transport.

The Sofitel MyBeds are really comfy. The lighting was good (although the light switches were totally confusing) and the blackout curtains very good. The room was totally noiseless. The room had a desk chair, a tub chair with a footrest and a separate stool. In the wardrobe was a kettle, a safe and 2 nice thick bathrobes and slippers.

The room had absolutely everything you could think of. The large desk even had a stationery set with ruler, pencil, pen, stapler, spare staples, rubber bands and paper clips! There was a tea set complete with a teapot, 2 cups and saucers. For the coffee lover, a coffee machine with 2 espresso cups. There was a good variety of teabags and coffee pods available. On the desk was also a plate of 5 gourmet chocolates!

The bathroom had a bath with a tray across it on which was a wine glass and bath salts. The walk-in shower and toilet were separate with a large sliding door which shut over one or the other. The toiletries were Lanvin - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion, as well as 2 cakes of soap. A small box contained other essentials such as a sewing kit, shower hat, toothbrush, toothpaste, cotton balls etc. The shower was excellent. The hairdryer wasn't attached to the wall in the bathroom which was good but the switch had to be held down really hard all the time. I nearly wore my thumb out blow drying my hair!

Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. Freshly squeezed orange juice, French yoghurt, and hot food was freshly cooked. I asked for porridge which is my usual breakfast everywhere if possible. The waiter didn't baulk and my bowl of porridge was one of the best ever! The bread was excellent and the coffee good.

This is a lovely hotel to stay at. The staff are efficient, friendly, courteous and really made us feel welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is excellent. The gym is outstanding and the pool is great to either swim in or just relax on a banana lounge. We were given a late checkout of 2pm as our plane was a late afternoon flight. We would definitely stay here again.
