Goodbye to Istanbul

A last leisurely breakfast at the Yasmak Sultan Hotel in the rooftop restaurant overlooking the water. We can see our cruise ship wedged between two others. They are enormous compared to ours. Our last walk through the Old City. This time I find the book on Istanbul I'd been looking for and it's only 5 Turkish Liras here. We walk past the Adora Restaurant one last time. Ugur is standing outside. "Come in", he says. We tell him we are leaving. "I'll give you tea," he tells us. "No charge." So we sit and enjoy our last glass of apple tea. The Turks love their tea so much that black tea is sold in 5kg bags in the supermarket!! I love buying different teas while overseas and would so love to bring 5kg home....... IMG_1625IMG_1623 Boarding time for our ship is 2pm. It is quite fast actually and we are on board in our cabin, number 431, in 20 minutes. There's a bottle of French champagne in a bucket of ice on the table!!! There is also an invitation to the Captain's welcome cocktail party to first time cruisers at 6pm.... Hello to life on board ship!!

Never get so busy travelling

that you forget to have an icecream on the way
