As we had planned to leave Catania for Taormina early the next morning, we just booked a standard room. All the rooms have balconies.  The standard rooms look out over the back of the hotel while superior rooms have a beach view.  Ours looked out over the carpark.  The superior rooms also have tea/coffee/kettle while the standard rooms don't.  Neither difference worried us for one night.  The room was clean.  The bed was comfy.  It had airconditioning but we were so tired we forgot to put it on!!  Good blackout curtains and very quiet.  Shampoo, bath gel, tissues and a cake of soap were supplied as well as a hairdryer.  The shower was over the bath but the water pressure was good.  Large white towels and hand towels but no face washers.  Breakfast was continental, although it included scrambled eggs and bacon.  We had an enormous selection of cakes, plenty of fruit, and the usual cereals, breads and condiments.
